Product Review: Good Sturdy Hair Ties That are Gentle on Hair and Don't Leave that Obnoxious Dent

Hello Lollipops,

I have come to terms with the fact that when I take my hair down from its ponytail, pigtails, or Pippi Longstocking braids, I will have the inevitable strands that wrap around the hair tie that I use manicure scissors to remove from said hair ties. When I say hair ties, I use plural because even during the rare times I wear a single pony ( I don't often wear that in public because it makes my face appear rounder than it is already) , I have learned to use two since I had an incident where a hair tie broke on me in sixth grade English class which wasn't fun ( I find that having thick, curly hair in a strange way will be the closest I will come to having big boobs; it needs extra support) .

Well, the time came when I needed to replenish my supply of hair ties, I headed down to my local Wal*Mart  and saw that they carried the Scunci brand (of which I have yet to pronounce properly), which isn't widely available in my area ( I usually buy the Goody brand for my hair ties, though, like most people do when they need a hair tie in North America, apparently).

It is printed directly on the package that it is for THICK HAIR (they use capital letters, so you know that they mean business). My local Wal*Mart had them for $3.44, but for some reason, they don't sell them online. Annoyingly enough, you can get them for a dime and a nickel more right here.   The actual product is called Scunci No-Damage Thick Hair Elastics  and I like that they come in an even number of twenty-four since I am quite the pigtail enthusiast.  They are available in all black and have a colorful "bright" pack, but I prefer the former since I am basic and boring. Try them and comment below on your opinion!

Take care,

Derrah

ETA: I was not compensated for this product review.  As mentioned in this post, I paid for the pack of hair ties myself.

  1. I have to wear a ponytail every day because of sports, so I definitely have to try these! :)

    1. Remember the two for one rule! What sports do you play? Scunci has lots of athletic hair accessories.
